Arrests

On Feb. 16 at 1:55 p.m., a 21-year-old homeless woman was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and criminal tampering stemming from an incident on Sept. 14, 2020, on Ella Street.

At 3:03 p.m. on Feb. 16, a 77-year-old Bronx resident was arrested and charged with petit larceny after an incident at Unicorn Jewelers, 29 Atlantic Ave.

An 18-year-old Inwood resident was arrested on Feb. 16 at 3:49 p.m. and charged with reckless driving, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance (Ambien) and aggravated unlicensed operation after police attempted a car stop on Webster Street. 

On Feb. 17 at 11:20 a.m., a 42-year-old Brooklyn woman was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after an incident on Scranton Avenue on Jan. 13, during which a taxicab sustained about $400 in damage.

At 3:05 p.m. on Feb. 17, a 24-year-old man from Rosedale, Queens, was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument after he attempted to cash a fraudulent check for $492 at Webster Bank, 619 Sunrise Highway.

A 30-year-old man from Schenectady, N.Y. was arrested on Feb. 18 at 1:39 p.m. and charged with possession of a forged instrument on Sunrise Highway.

On Feb. 19 at 2:35 a.m., a 21-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and making an unsafe lane change on Sunrise Highway.

At 7:26 p.m. on Feb. 20, a 27-year-old man from Gainesville, Fla. was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) in Parking Field No. 12.

Grand larceny

A Roslyn resident notified police on Feb. 17 that he deposited a check inside the FedEx drop-box at 112 Merrick Road in Lynbrook on Feb. 3, and several days passed, and the check was never received. Lynbrook detectives are investigating the incident.
