Looking for a job? Need help with your resume or job search? Want to enhance your skills to improve your employability? I have great news!

The Town of Oyster Bay is here to help.

Through the Workforce Partnership, a program dedicated to creating job opportunities and connecting qualified job seekers with employers, we offer a range of free services to help you navigate the job market and enhance your career prospects.

One of the standout features of the Workforce Partnership is the access to dedicated career specialists. These experts offer personalized assistance, guiding job seekers through every step of the job search process. Whether you need help refining your resume, preparing for interviews or matching your skills with job openings, our specialists are here to support you. They provide tailored advice and practice sessions, boosting your confidence and improving your performance in interviews. This individualized approach ensures that you are well prepared to showcase your strengths and qualifications to potential employers.

Additionally, the state Department of Labor’s JobZone program is a crucial tool available to job seekers through the Workforce Partnership. This advanced technology scans your resume for key details and matches your skills and experience with the requirements of job openings. It is a targeted approach that increases your chances of finding a position that aligns with your qualifications and career goals, making the job search process more efficient and effective.

We also offer extensive job placement services, and maintain job listings for both private sector and civil service positions. These listings are regularly updated to reflect the latest opportunities, ensuring that job seekers have access to a wide variety of employment options. This comprehensive approach helps you find roles that suit your needs and aspirations.

In addition to placement services, the Workforce Partnership offers a range of workshops and training programs designed to enhance employability. Computer workshops cover essential skills in Microsoft Office Suite, equipping job seekers with the knowledge needed to excel in today’s digital workplace. Social media workshops focus on platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook, teaching job seekers how to leverage these tools for job hunting. The workshops are complemented by vocational and skills training programs, which offer certifications in high-demand occupations such as health services, information technology, construction trades, business, medical office skills, hospitality, service industries and transportation. These opportunities are designed to equip residents with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen career paths.

The Workforce Partnership Career Centers, in Hicksville and Massapequa, serve as hubs of opportunity and support. They feature resource rooms equipped with computer workstations, internet access, job listings and resource materials. Job seekers can also access photocopiers, fax machines and phones, ensuring they have all the tools necessary for a successful job search. The centers offer employability and computer workshops, as well as career counselors who guide you through a job search, helping you increase your marketability by updating or acquiring new computer skills.

Employers also benefit from the Workforce Partnership’s services. The program offers salary reimbursement and other incentives for hiring and training new employees. Customized training programs help upgrade the skills of current employees, while screening and referral services ensure that employers find the best candidates for their open positions. Business services specialists provide the latest information on tax incentives and funding opportunities to support business growth, ensuring that local businesses thrive alongside job seekers.
