Polk Street School Principal Gilbert Torossian joined kindergartners at an end-of-year show in 2016. The beloved Franklin Square principal has not been seen at the school since the week of Feb. 5, leaving students and parents to question the school district as to why. Meera Empowerment, a nonprofit organization based in Elmont, hosts fashion shows each year to empower youth in the community.
