Nearly 1,000 local residents attended the Rock Out Cures a benefit concert on Sept. 24 at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant in Franklin Square. A total of $35,000 was raised — a record amount for the annual event — for the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Long Island branches of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network. more
