Pat Nicolosi, a revered community leader in Elmont and former president of the Elmont Memorial Library Board of Trustees who died in January, has been honored by the library board, which dedicated a seat in the Elmont Library Theatre to Nicolosi’s memory.

“Along with being an avid community member who served many local community associations,” the library board said in a statement, “Patrick was a committed and valued Elmont Library Board member and President for ten years and a familiar and respected figure within the library.”

Nicolosi, who died at 64, moved to Elmont in 1967. Following his death, fellow community leaders called him a dedicated, passionate advocate for Elmont residents.

“Patrick had an unyielding passion for keeping the integrity and balance of our community for future generations. His efforts and contributions will always be remembered and his presence will certainly be missed,” the board said.

The board said the seat was dedicated to Nicolosi for his dedication and service to the Elmont community and to the library. “The Elmont Memorial Library respectfully sends their most heartfelt condolences to his family,” the board said.
