Plattduetsch tries to ‘platten’ the curve

The Plattduetsche Restaurant, Catering & Biergarten has launched a to-go meal kit initiative for customers who are missing their favorite German specialties. A food menu, growlers of beer, specialty cocktails and even toilet paper is available for order online, with a safe pick-up system to follow on Friday and Saturday at the biergarten.

The restaurant will be taking orders for food kits until Wednesday at 9 p.m. The orders can be made online at www.ParkRestaurant.com or on the biergarten’s Facebook page. They will be available for pick-up on Friday from  4 - 8 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers who live in Franklin Square can also opt for contactless delivery on Thursday.

Additionally, the restaurant will be livestreaming a The ‘90s Band concert on Plattduetsche’s and the band’s Facebook pages to replicate the typical weekend Biergarten experience as closely as possible on Saturday night.

“We’ve been hearing from a lot of our regular customers, asking if we’re doing take-out orders,” General Manager Matthew Buck explained. “With the to-go meal kit initiative, the food is cooked for finishing at home when they’re ready to eat it to preserve the quality and make it taste like it does in our restaurants. The music completes the picture for a Saturday Night ‘Platten the Curve Party from Home,’ where we can all be together virtually having a good time but remain safe.”

Customers who buy meal kits or tune in to the concert are asked to take pictures of themselves and post them to the Plattduetsche’s Facebook or Instagram pages with the hashtag #PlattentheCurveLI. The restaurant will respond with give-aways that can be mailed to individuals.
