Fifth graders at John Street School presented self-conducted science experiments at the inaugural fifth grade science fair held by the school on Feb. 17.

Each student and selected and researched a topic of their choosing. “Students worked on their projects for approximately five to six weeks,” the district stated in a news release. “One of the parameters was to have a constant and a variable.”

Students used boards to display their selected topics, hypotheses, materials, procedures, data and conclusions. “During the fair, students presented their boards and the results of their experiments to other fifth grade classes, fourth graders, administration and the STEM teacher,” the district added.
