A Woodmere man who had not received his mail for two days prompted an investigation by Nassau County police and the U.S. Postal authorities, which ended in the arrest of Manhattan resident Joshua N. Klarsfeld on July 15.

An Inwood man led state police in Hamburg on a high-speed chase in a stolen car and hit a state police vehicle, which sent both cars into an unoccupied postal delivery truck before being arrested around 3 p.m. on June 7, officials said.
