Far Rockaway man arrested for Woodmere robbery

After responding to a domestic disturbance call at the Five Tows Shopping Center on Rockaway Turnpike in Woodmere on May 28, Nassau police learned that Ronald E. Bellamy had a verbal argument with a woman that escalated to a physical altercation, ;police said.

Bellamy, 25, of Village Lane, allegedly hit the woman, 24, in the face, grabbed her iPhone and pocketbook then took off. 

After what the police called “a brief foot pursuit,” Bellamay was arrested at 1:35 p.m. on the same day. The subsequent investigation uncovered that Bellamy had violated two active orders of protection.    

He is charged with robbery, harassment, grand larceny and two counts of criminal contempt. Bellamy will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on May 29.
