Long Island Rail Road service was restored at 5:53 p.m. on the Far Rockaway branch after being suspended in both directions between Valley Stream and Far Rockaway, due to “an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks at the Hewlett station on Monday.

The car got stuck on the tracks at 4:50 p.m., according to Sal Arena, LIRR spokesman. Arena said the car was removed and the trains are moving again. 

Stations along the Far Rockaway line include Cedarhurst, Inwood, Lawrence and Woodmere.
