A Cedarhurst man was arrested on March 14 after police found he had stolen a watch worth $1,100 from a car in Woodmere in July.

Javier Rios, 21, of Cedarhurst Avenue, allegedly entered a 2006 Nissan parked in a driveway on Elm Street on July 16 of last year and took a stainless steel Sub 300T watch from the vehicle at 11:45 p.m.

Rios, police said, then sold the watch to a second-hand dealer in Inwood, who in turn sold it to another dealer. The original watch owner searched EBay, found his watch and notified the police. Fourth Squad detectives tracked the watch and recovered it in Manhattan.

Police took Rios into custody. He is being charged with grand larceny-fourth degree. His arraignment is at first District court in Hempstead on March 15.
