New piping on Washington Avenue in Cedarhurst

From now through mid-August, Washington Avenue, between Pearsall Avenue and West Broadway in Cedarhurst, will first have more than 2,500 feet of aging water main pipes replaced by New York American Water, along with 70 service lines and five fire hydrants.

The after that work is completed all of Washington Avenue, from Pearsall Avenue to West Broadway, curb-to-curb, will be repaved.   

All construction is expected to take place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Residents should note that sections of the Washington Avenue where construction is taking place may be closed to traffic during these working hours.

Allow some extra time when commuting and proceed slowly and carefully around work crews.
