Volunteers from Tee Pee Signs, Mohan Naipaul and Kishian Daljeet, along with Deputy Inspector Danny Gluck, commanding officer of the 4th Precinct-South police auxiliary unit and auxiliary officer Shari Zagorski, who directed traffic, took down the new U.S. flags along Broadway in Hewlett and Woodmere on Oct. 6. The flags will be stored until  next spring.

Bridgehampton National Bank donated approximately 36 flags this year to replace the flags that were destroyed by the harsh winter weather. “The weather gets so bad in the winter that the set of flags we had before were completely destroyed,” said David Friedman, president of the Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association.
