Woodmere house fire extinguished by five departments

Five fire departments helped to extinguish a house fire at 654 Church Ave., in Woodmere  on Feb. 27 at 12:05 p.m.

Along with Woodmere, Inwood, Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Meadowmere Park and Rockville Centre fire departments responded, along with Nassau police.  No injuries were reported, police said, adding that workers fixing a plumbing problem ignited the fire. 

The Nassau County Fire Marshal responded to the scene and the investigation is continuing.
