Residents and local leaders gathered Sunday, following Earth Day, for a community cleanup in Franklin Square organized by the Town of Hempstead’s Quality-of-Life Task Force in partnership with the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce.
Volunteers met at Parking Field FS-8, at the intersection of Cloud and Franklin avenues, to pick up litter and help improve neighborhood conditions. Town Supervisor John Ferretti and Councilman Thomas E. Muscarella joined residents in the effort and encouraged participation from local businesses and homeowners.
Despite the weather, the event drew a strong turnout, with neighbors working side by side to enhance the appearance and pride of the community.
