How are Lynbrook firefighters helping the wounded warriors on Saturday?

Lynbrook Fire Department Chief Scott Bien, left, and Ex-Chief Kevin Bien, hold one of the many lawn signs around the village informing businesses, residents and visitors that the fire department will host its 13th annual wounded warrior fundraiser at Greis Park on Saturday.

This End of Summer Bash is from 3 to 9 p.m., at the park's main building.  There is also a car show on the grass from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. Food will be provided and nearly 150 prizes will be raffled off including JetBlue tickets. The cost is only $20.

All funds go to Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior, a charity that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The group is not associated with the Wounded Warrior Project.

A group of wounded soldiers receiving treatment at Fort Belvoir in Virginia will attend the fundraiser. The park is at 55 Wilbur St., in Lynbrook.
