The initiative, conducted Thursday, June 25, by the Fifth Precinct Problem-Oriented Policing Unit and Fifth Precinct Detail with the assistance of underage agents, resulted in the arrests of Mujahid Khan, 27, of Elmont; Davinder Singh, 25, of Franklin Square; Yash Patel, 23, of Valley Stream; and Vipul Patel, 45, of Bethpage.
Police said Khan sold a flavored tobacco product to an underage agent at Franklin Smoke and Cigar Shop in Franklin Square, while Singh sold an alcoholic beverage at Prince Liquor and Wine in Elmont and Yash Patel sold an alcoholic beverage at Circle A Deli in Elmont.
Additional prohibited items were recovered at Franklin Smoke and Cigar Shop and Circle A Deli, according to police. Vipul Patel, the manager of Circle A Deli, was charged under the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law with disorderly premise and other violations.
All four defendants were released on appearance tickets returnable to First District Court.
