Old friends caught up on what’s been going on in their lives since their days at Lynbrook High. Other events included a walk through the school, a visit to the football game with Lynbrook playing Hewlett, and a trip to White Castle, Gino’s Pizza, and other old “haunts.” more

And with election season in full swing, McCarthy will face Republican Primary Winner Francis X. Becker, Nassau County legislator for the 6th legislative district, in the 4th Congressional District race in November’s national election. Police Officer Joseph Cosenza of the Lynbrook Police Department was honored recently with the 2010 Town of Hempstead Police Service Award. The Town recognized law enforcement professionals from the Nassau County Police Department and village police departments within the town at its annual ceremony. more

Nori Mattson, 65, and her husband, Art Mattson, 67, have been riding motorcycles for more than 40 years — but this year they set a new record for themselves. The retired Lynbrook couple crossed five Canadian provinces, cruised down the Pacific Coast Highway, and returned to Long Island by a southern U.S. route. The 9,437-mile adventure took 37 days. Their motorcycle? A Honda Goldwing (1800cc) that cruises at 80 MPH on the open road. more
