At the final Ronald Winchester Walk of Honor, Rockville Centre Deputy Mayor Kathy Baxley and Trustee Katie Conlon presented a proclamation Saturday afternoon to Marianna Winchester, an Oceanside Middle School phys. ed. teacher and the mother of the late Marine First Lt. Ronald Winchester, who died during his second tour in Iraq in 2004. The annual walk has raised funds for organizations including the First Marine Division Association Scholarship Fund, the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and America’s VetDogs.

Marianna Winchester, the Gold Star mother of U.S. Marine Lt. Ronald Winchester, and American Legion Post 303 Commander Frank Colon Jr. honored the troops on Veterans Day in 2017.
