Arrests

Maria Sandy Velasquez, 20 of Hempstead, was arrested on Austin Boulevard in island Park on May 13 for an assault that occurred on April 3.

John Tutewohl, 40 of Baldwin, was arrested on Foxhurst Road in Oceanside on May 10 for driving without a license. According to police, Tutewohl was driving an unregistered, uninsured car with a revoked license.

Laura Bradley, 55 of Malvern, was arrested at Kohl's, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on May 16 for petit larceny. According to detectives, Bradley was observed by store security removing three pieces of jewelry, placing them in her pocket and leaving the store.

Christopher Lyons, 49 of Long Beach, was arrested on May 5 on Waukena Avenue in Oceanside and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and driving while intoxicated.

Althee Chericlaire-Job, 45 of Valley Stream, was arrested at Kohl's, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on May 8 for petit larceny.

Assault

A 15-year-old victim received a phone call from a friend on May 16 asking him to come to Perry Avenue in Oceanside. When the victim arrived, he was punched continuously on the chest, head, body and mouth, and needed to be transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital for his injuries.

Burglary

Two men entered the Oceanside Quick Stop, 3303 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on May 12 by breaking the side door, and removed scratch-off lottery tickets valued at $15,000.

Criminal Mischief

One of the panes from the kitchen roof skylight was found broken at School No. 2, 2745 Terrell Avenue in Oceanside, on May 15.

Two windows at School 3, 2852 Fortesque Avenue in Oceanside, were broken on May 15.

DWI

Raginder Singh, 18 of Oceanside, was arrested on May 11 and charged with driving while intoxicated. According to police, Singh drove his car into the front stoop of a residence on Cortland Avenue in Oceanside.

Bruce Tarco, 24 of Long Beach, was arrested on Austin Boulevard in Island Park and charged with driving while intoxicated on May 13.

Mallory Maguire, 23 of Long Beach, was arrested on Nassau Lane in Island Park and charged with driving while intoxicated on May 14.

Graffiti

A student at Oceanside High School, 3160 Skillman Avenue in Oceanside, found grafitti/bomb threat on the back rest of a desk. According to police, the graffiti read "bomb threat 5/18 10:50 p.m."

Larceny

A 1990 Lexus left on Oceanside Road for two days due to mechanical problems was stolen on May 9.

Someone removed a 2000 Ford Focus parked in front of an apartment on Steven Street in Oceanside on May 13.
