Chrome gleamed under the bright late-spring sun as decades of automotive history lined Parking Field 2 during Rockville Centre’s annual Vintage Car and Fire Truck Show, which drew crowds from the village and beyond.

Car enthusiasts, families and curious visitors spent the day June 6 admiring meticulously restored vehicles that offered a glimpse into transportation’s golden age.

The annual event, organized by Deputy Mayor Kathy Baxley and former Rockville Centre Fire Department Capt. Dominick Alesi, featured an impressive collection of classic automobiles, antique fire apparatus and specialty vehicles spanning multiple generations. From muscle cars to historic fire trucks that once answered emergency calls, the show transformed the parking field into a rolling museum of Americana.

Attendees strolled among the vehicles, chatting with owners who shared stories about the restoration process and the history behind their prized possessions. Many visitors stopped to take photographs, while others reminisced about cars they once owned or remembered seeing on local roads decades ago.

In addition to showcasing automotive craftsmanship, the gathering highlighted the region’s firefighting heritage. Several antique fire trucks on display offered visitors a close-up look at the evolution of emergency response equipment while honoring generations of firefighters who served their communities.
