A 47-year-old Seaford man was arrested after Nassau County police said he was found with 70 glassine envelopes containing a white powdery substance believed to be heroin while riding an E-bike on a sidewalk in Seaford.
According to the Nassau County Police Department’s Seventh Squad, Bureau of Special Operations officers observed Thomas Coyle, of John Lane in Seaford, riding an E-bike westbound on the sidewalk along Merrick Road at about 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1.
Officers activated their emergency lights and stopped Coyle near Merrick Road and Seaford Avenue, police said.
During the investigation, officers allegedly found Coyle in possession of 70 glassine envelopes containing a white powdery substance believed to be heroin. He was arrested without incident, according to police.
Coyle was charged with reckless or uncontrolled operation of a bicycle, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and a vehicle and traffic law violation.
He was arraigned Friday, Oct. 2, at First District Court in Hempstead. He pleaded not guilty.
