A 12-year-old biciyclist was struck by a car while near Oakfield Avenue and Barrie Avenue close to the border of North Bellmore and Wantagh on June 20. The boy was airlifted to a nearby hospital, and police say he is in stable condition

A young boy was struck by a car while riding his bike near the border of North Bellmore and Wantagh on June 20, according to police.
Around 4:45 p.m., Detectives say a 52-year-old man driving a 2020 Ford Econoline Van was traveling north on Oakfield Avenue when he collided with a 41-year-old woman driving a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A bicyclist, identified as a 12-year-old boy, was struck by one of the cars during the collision.
The boy was taken to a nearby school and airlifted to Cohen Children’s Hospital where he is in stable condition. Police say the woman was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The investigation, according to police, is ongoing.
