Shaw Avenue student has artwork published at Liberty Water calendar competition

Shaw Avenue Elementary third grader Zain Anwar was named a winner in Liberty Water’s annual Be Water Wise Art Contest.

Zain had his artwork featured in the 2024 Liberty Be Water Wise calendar. The calendar includes water conservation tips each month and expresses the importance of water conservation through the students’ art.

The annual contest has served as a fun and creative way for students across Long Island to learn about the water cycle and the importance of water conservation and the preservation of the Island’s drinking water.

Entries were judged on artistic talent, creative vision, and the ability to deliver home the message on the importance of conserving water.

The district commended Zain on being named a winner, saying “they look forward to seeing more outstanding artwork from him and his fellow Global Leaders of Tomorrow.”
