Photo Spread: Valley Stream Veteran's Day 2023

Residents came out, with patriotic spirit to spare, in recognizing the valiant efforts of the nation’s veterans during its annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Village Bandshell on Nov. 11. The village’s master of ceremonies was New York Assemblyman Brian Curran. American Legion Post 854 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1790 led the presentation of colors with Valley Stream scouts.

Patrick Burke, a retired Corporal United States Marines, led the pledge of allegiance and the National Anthem was sung by Zavier Jean-Charles from Bethlehem Assembly of God. Pastor Steven Milazzo of Bethlehem Assembly of God delivered the invocation. George Catalanotto of the Disabled American Veterans a gave remembrance table presentation on behalf of the Defense as Prisoner of War or Missing in Action service members, soldiers who fought in foreign lands but never returned home, and the families they left behind.
