There are several options allowing New York State residents to vote in advance, from voting by mail or with an absentee ballot, to voting early in person. To learn more about requesting a ballot to mail in, visit https://elections.ny.gov/request-ballot.
If you're interested in getting your ballot in before Election Day, early in-person voting for the 2026 General Election begins Saturday, Oct. 24 and ends Sunday, Nov. 1.
Early voting is just like voting on Election Day. Voters privately mark and scan their ballot, then the results are counted and included in unofficial election night totals. Early voting provides voters with more flexible and convenient options to get to the polls, and often a faster voting experience then Election Day.
During early voting, all registered Nassau County residents can vote at any early voting location listed below. If you are not registered to vote, visit https://elections.ny.gov/register-vote before the Oct. 24 deadline.
Locations are subject to change. Every polling place is accessible to voters with physical disabilities.
Any voter who has been issued an absentee ballot or an early vote by mail ballot is not permitted to vote on a voting machine at an early voting site, or on election day, but may vote by affidavit ballot.
On Election Day, Nov. 3, voters must go to their regular designated polling place.
*On Oct. 27 and 28, the Board of Elections early voting site in Mineola is open an additional hour - until 8 p.m.
