There, she and her friends wandered its sidewalks, past its familiar playgrounds, ball fields and band shell, and lit candles for the dead. Valley Stream girl makes World Cup basketball team

As a child, Celeste Taylor spent her summers playing basketball at the courts behind Valley Stream Central High School. Last year, at the age of 16, she and her teammates won a gold medal at the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup in Argentina, where she helped lead her team to a perfect 5-0 record. Next month, she will once again represent the United States in World Cup competition in Belarus. more
