There are two more workshops planned for the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library’s “College Just Ahead” series, which continues on Mondays for the next two weeks.

The topic for next Monday, Aug. 10, will be managing finances through college. It will be presented by Glenore Anderson and Curtis Smith from Astoria Bank. They will discuss how to create and manage a budget, checking accounts and ATM’s, identity theft and phishing scams and tips for wise spending. The workshop goes from 1-2 p.m.

The topic on Aug. 17 will be college dating and campus safety issues, and will be presented by two educators provided by the Nassau County Bar Association. Samantha Winter and Courtney Murphy work with The Safe Center LI, a Bethpage-based organization that provides services for victims of domestic abuse. They will discuss college dating, sexual harassment and date rape on college campuses and New York’s “Enough is Enough” sexual assault prevention policy.

The first two workshops covered general information and tips for college freshmen and how to eat healthy and avoid gaining the “freshman 15.”

Library Director Mamie Eng organized the series. The workshops are free for college students, high school seniors and parents or caregivers. For more information, call (516) 825-6422.
