Children have fun at annual church fair

Children and their parents flocked to the Arthur J. Hendrickson Park parking lot last weekend to ride rides and play carnival games at the Valley Stream Presbyterian Church’s annual carnival.

More people attended the carnival this year than in years passed, according to Minister Phil Jones. He attributed the carnival’s success to the “beautiful weekend.”

“It was a joy, it really was,” Jones said, adding that several residents came up to him to express their gratitude to the church for organizing the event.

He also said that he spoke to the police officers that provided security at the carnival, and they said that any issues were “’squashed immediately’” and they were “’really impressed with how it was run.’”

All of the funds raised at the carnival benefit the church’s ministries and local groups.

“We hope we could just keep on spreading the love every year,” Jones said.
