Local man pleads not guilty in NYC shooting

The Valley Stream man arrested in October for shooting two men to death at a wake in Brooklyn pleaded not guilty on Dec. 8, according to Newsday.

Pierre Celestine, 35, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and felony weapons possession for the April 27 shooting in front of Emmanuel Church of God in East Flatbush, the paper reported.

Sharieff Clayton, 40, of the Bronx, and Ronald Murphy, 44, of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, were killed. Four others, including Murphy’s wife, were wounded.

Celestine was ordered held until his next court date on Feb. 23, according to Newsday.
