Third-grade students across the Valley Stream 24 school district received a boost to their academic resources, thanks to a donation from the Valley Stream Elks Lodge.
As part of the initiative, each student was given a personal dictionary to support reading comprehension, vocabulary development and writing skills. The effort highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to building partnerships with community organizations that support education and youth development.
The Valley Stream Elks Lodge, established in 1960, is a local chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The organization has long been active in the Valley Stream community, contributing through charitable initiatives and outreach programs.
Through the dictionary donation, the lodge continues its tradition of supporting education and providing students with tools to promote academic success.
