Woman's purse stolen in Valley Stream attack

A woman leaving her Rockaway Avenue apartment early Saturday morning was attacked by two unknown men, who threatened her with a gun and stole her purse.

According to Nassau County Police, a 26-year-old woman was walking toward her car at about 7 a.m. on July 28 when she was approached by two men, one armed with a handgun. They demanded her pocketbook.

The woman struggled with the two robbers. They grabbed her throat and held her from behind, causing her to drop her bag. The robbers then grabbed the purse and fled southbound on Rockaway Avenue. The woman was not injured.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 30 years old, 6-foot-1, a muscular build and a large nose. He was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and a white cloth covering his mouth and chin. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-7, a muscular build wearing a face mask and white gloves.
