A 'nite' of fun at West Hempstead High School

Posted

Students at West Hempstead High School begin preparing for “Class Nite,” one of students’ favorite annual spring events, at the start of every school year.
It begins with each class choosing a theme and creating a unique theme-related float for the fall homecoming parade. The night continues as a fun-filled evening of spirited competition between the classes with relay races, cage ball, four-cornered volleyball and tug-of-war.
Last month, the students’ talent was showcased in the creative artwork that decorated the gymnasium’s walls and related to each class’ chosen theme: Frosty Freshman, Scary Sophomores, Junior Mints and Space Jam Seniors. Their artwork delighted the eye and tickled the imagination.
Turnout for the event was tremendous with the attendance of more than five hundred spectators. To honor the audience, themselves and each other, the students displayed abundant community and school spirit, cheering and encouraged student participants during the lively competitions.
West Hempstead High School gave a special thanks to the time, effort and hard work of the students, parents and class advisors for helping to make this year’s high school “Class Nite” a resounding success.
