Hempstead Town launches child safety I.D. program

Posted

The Town of Hempstead presented the Child Safety Fingerprinting I.D. Program at the Lakeview Public Library earlier this month.
As part of the program, the town clerk's office sends representatives to various locations to collect children's fingerprints, a sample of hair and a current photo, with parents' permission, to be kept in the event that the child goes missing. The purpose of the program is not only to provide families pertinent information their children in such a case, but also to help police when conducting a search.
