South Nassau Communities Hospital has used a $15,000 gift donation from the Rapaport Family Charitable Trust to to purchase a new infant transporter for the hospital's Labor and Delivery Suite. The new transporter provides a controlled environment to ensure the safety of newborns while they are in transit within the hospital, and it is equipped to supply additional monitoring and support as needed.

Residents of Rockville Centre whose children were born at South Nassau, the Rapaports have expressed an interest in making gifts for equipment and furnishings that will enhance patients’ comfort and safety. A previous gift of $10,000 from the Rapaport Family Charitable Trust funded the purchase of fold-out sleeper chairs for patient rooms in the Maternity Services Unit, so that new fathers can "room in" with mother and child, giving parents the ability to experience the first few hours of their newborn's life together as a family.
