Recycle to raise money and awareness
The West Hempstead school district’s Green Team is working with Royal Recycling Solutions and will hold a holiday paper recycling fundraiser at West Hempstead Middle School later this month.
The Green Team encourages all families to bring their newspaper, cardboard, wrapping paper, magazines, junk mail and used copy paper to a special dumpster that will be located at the north end of the middle school parking lot — at 350 Nassau Blvd. — beginning Monday, Dec. 19, and running through the holiday season. Proceeds from the sale of the recycled material will be donated to the district in support of environmental education and Royal Recycling Solutions.
Recycling paper and cardboard helps save trees, reduces fuel and water consumption, decreases carbon dioxide emissions and raises money to support environmental education in West Hempstead.
