Expand your reading palate with books from various genres including popular fiction, literary fiction, biography, non-fiction, and the occasional classic. Fall planting in West Hempstead

Prep for the fall planting season at the West Hempstead Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Presented by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County, spring bulb topics that will be covered include identification, selection, design, planting, animal deterrence and dividing. Annual wine tasting at Crossroads Farm

Crossroads Farm’s Barnyard Event Series continues with its Annual Wine Tasting on Friday, Sept. 20, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event, which is hosted by the Malverne Civic Association, will feature unlimited wine tastings throughout the evening, craft beer on tap for non-wine drinkers and light snacks. An evening with Creedence Clearwater Revisited

CCR founding members Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford visit Tilles Center, on Friday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. The spinoff project carries forth with classic hits that were the touchstone of a generation. Following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they launched their Creedence Clearwater Revisited project to once again perform live in concert their iconic tunes.
