West Hempstead man arrested for alleged sex acts with child

A West Hempstead man was arrested on Aug. 17 for allegedly engaging in criminal sex acts with a 13-year-old boy he met on CraigsList.

Suffolk County Police arrested David Boutin, 42, of West Hempstead, at 3:41 p.m. at the Long Island Power Authority property, north of Route 25A in Shoreham, police said.

According to police, a Seventh Precinct patrol officer, who was searching a utilities access road for a stolen dirt bike, allegedly observed Boutin sitting with a child in the rear seat of a blue 2010 Toyota Corolla. Boutin was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act.

Boutin was scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 18 at First District Court in Central Islip.
