West Hempstead man arrested for alleged sex acts with child
A West Hempstead man was arrested on Aug. 17 for allegedly engaging in criminal sex acts with a 13-year-old boy he met on CraigsList.
Suffolk County Police arrested David Boutin, 42, of West Hempstead, at 3:41 p.m. at the Long Island Power Authority property, north of Route 25A in Shoreham, police said.
According to police, a Seventh Precinct patrol officer, who was searching a utilities access road for a stolen dirt bike, allegedly observed Boutin sitting with a child in the rear seat of a blue 2010 Toyota Corolla. Boutin was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act.
Boutin was scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 18 at First District Court in Central Islip.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about Boutin to call the Seventh Squad at (631) 852-8752 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
