“Painting” with Polymer Clay at the Oceanside Library

A startling kaleidoscope of color, shapes, whimsical designs, and rich details are vivid components of Joan Israel’s art exhibit “Painting with Polymer Clay.” The exhibit will open on May 1 and remain on display at the library through June 30.  

“Coming up Roses” with the Oceanside Garden Club, Tuesday, June 8. Cathy Guzzardo, Master Gardener and Vice President of the Long Island Rose Society, gives “rosarians” advice on cultivating these romantic flowers. New members welcome! Refreshments will be served. 7p.m.

Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Chamber Music, Tuesday, June 15. Beethoven historian Dr. Stuart Bailin explores the composer’s early chamber music which paved the way for his symphonic works. 2 p.m.

Battle of the Bands

June 19, at Oceanside Lutheran Church-parish Hall, 55 Fairview Ave, Oceanside, doors open at 6:00 p.m., show starts at 6:30 p.m. For more information and band registration, please visit oceansidelutheran.com/battleoftheband. $50 fee to perform. Bands will have a total of 20 minutes on stage with approximatly 12 minutes of play time. The prizes are as follows: 1st: $200, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $50. Event is to help raise money for our Youth Mission Trip to Harrisburg, PA. 10 bands featured onstage in our Parish Hall. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 per person.

41st annual pre-San Gennaro Feast White Elephant Tag Sales. We received so many wonderful items for our San Gennaro Feast, we just couldn’t wait until September to sell them. The sales will be held at the Sacred Heart Parish Center, 301 Long Beach Road, in Island Park — two blocks north of the Long Beach Bridge.
