HS Football: Week 6

A trio of Friday night games kick off the Nassau County football action in Week 6, including Lawrence at Manhasset at 6:45 p.m. The Golden Tornadoes knocked off the Indians in the opening round of last year's playoffs on the way to the Conference III title. Also in Conference III, West Hempstead visits Carle Place, and Valley Stream South goes to Bethpage. Both of those games are set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, the biggest game on tap is East Meadow at defending Conference I champion Freeport. Both teams are 4-1. Also in Conference I, Baldwin hosts Farmingdale. Both games start at 2 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., undefeated Oceanside will try to keep up its frantic pace at Plainview.

In Conference II at 2 p.m., undefeated Carey is home to Calhoun, upstart Valley Stream Central takes on Elmont at Firemen's Field, and 4-1 Mepham visits Roslyn. At 6 p.m., Kennedy faces Wantagh.


In Conference III, a pair of 4-1 teams meet at Hewlett when Sewanhaka visits for a 2 p.m. kickoff. It's another rematch of first-round opponents in last year's playoffs. Undefeated Lynbrook hosts Division at Marion St.

In Conference IV, Malverne looks to make it two wins in a row when Oyster Bay visits. Clarke goes to Roosevelt, Valley Stream North entertains Island Trees, while East Rockaway is home to Locust Valley.
