Kindergarten registration for Oceanside and Island Park

It’s Kindergarten registration time again in Oceanside and Island Park.

Registration has already begun in Oceanside, and all students must be registered by Jan. 31. Parents should call 678-8532 to make an appointment with the Central Registry office to register their child in Oceanside. Parents will need to bring: a primary proof of residency (original deed, mortgage statement or notarized lease), a secondary proof of residency (two current utility bills), the child’s original birth certificate and proof of immunization (which must be signed or stamped by a physician). Registration forms are available at the Central Registry office or at the district’s website, www.oceansideschools.org. Parents should complete the forms prior to their appointments.

In Island Park, registration begins in late January. There will be three dates for registration: Jan. 26, 27 and Feb. 2, all from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. In order to register for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by Dec. 1, 2011. Parents need to bring their child’s original birth certificate, three proofs of residency and immunization records to the registration. Call 431-4740 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for an appointment.
