Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside late Wednesday morning. The crash closed all eastbound and westbound lanes at Atlantic Avenue between Court Street and Lincoln Avenue.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:51 a.m. on Oct. 9. A 63-year-old man riding a 2011 Harley Davidson was traveling eastbound on Atlantic Avenue when he was struck by a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 58-year-old man. The driver of the Jeep, who was heading westbound, was attempting to make a left turn onto Lincoln Avenue when the crash occurred.
The motorcyclist sustained serious leg injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
