Arrests

  • A 34-year-old Deer Park man was arrested at Paddy McGee's, 6 Waterview Road in Island Park, and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on Aug. 30. According to police, the arestee was highly intoxicated and had to be escorted out by security when he had an altercation in the bar and refused to leave. Police say he continued yelling obscenities, struggled with the police officers and did not comply.
  • A 32-year-old Long Beach woman was arrested at Stop and Shop, 3577 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and charged with petit larceny on Aug. 26.
  • A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy from Long Beach were arrested at Kohl's, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and charged with shoplifting assorted clothing and jewelry on Aug. 23.
  • A 19-year-old Oceanside man, a 20-year-old West Babylon man and a 19-year-old Uniondale man were all arrested on Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside on Aug. 20 and charged with assault. According to police, the three punched a complainant in the face and body causing injuries to his face and eye.
  • A 22-year-old Island Park resident was arrested at 1 Station Plaza in Island Park on Sept. 1 and charged with resisting arrest. According to police, she was involved in a fight on the LIRR train and continued yelling at people on the station platform and ignored directions from police officers.
  • A 24-year-old Long Beach man was arrested on Beech Street in Island Park and charged with disorderly conduct on Sept. 1. According to police, he was observed having a fight with another man in the dirt parking lot where several bystanders were present and became uncooperative when police officers tried to issue a warning.

Burglary

  • Surveillance video showed a young man prying the rear door open on Biggest Banana, 3359 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, ransacking the second-floor office and removing money from the cash box on Aug. 20.

Criminal Mischief

  • A Volkswagen parked on Warwick Road in Island Park was keyed on Aug. 6.
  • Two cars parked on Yost Boulevard in Oceanside were scratched on Aug. 27.
  • Three cars parked in front of a house on Montgomery Avenue in Oceanside were scratched on Aug. 27.
