Arrests

  • An East Rockaway woman and an Oceanside woman, both 19, were arrested on Oct. 13 at Kohl’s, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and charged with petit larceny. According police, the two were observed by store security selecting several pieces of jewelry, concealing them in a stroller and leaving the store without paying.
  • A 26-year-old Bellmore man surrendered to police at the Fourth Precinct Stationhouse for petit larceny and identity theft he allegedly committed on Sept. 3. He was a teller at TD Bank, 247 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and admitted to making an unauthorized withdrawal from a customer’s account.
  • An 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both of Roosevelt, were arrested on Windsor Place in Oceanside on Oct. 7 and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.


Burglary

  • The owner of Neat Heat and Cooling, 35 Alabama Ave. in Island Park, responded to an alarm and found an employee lying on the floor bleeding on Oct. 18. He had been struck on the head with a fire extinguisher by an unknown suspect.
  • A complainant reported that her living room window was open and her kitchen door was ajar on her home on 1st Street in Oceanside on Oct. 7. A Sony laptop was reported missing.


Criminal Mischief

  • Someone broke the windows of a 2008 Dodge parked on Hillman Avenue in Oceanside on Oct. 9.
  • Someone broke the windows of a 2003 Acura parked on Malcolm Court in Oceanside and attempted to remove parts from the dashboard on Oct. 10.
  • A neighbor on Perkins Avenue in Oceanside observed two men and a woman hitting a complainant’s 2001 Infiniti with a metal pipe and then removing money on Oct. 10.
  • A complainant found the driver’s-side window of his 2005 Lincoln, parked on Marshall Street in Oceanside, shattered and the vehicle ransacked on Oct. 12.
  • The owner of Creative Florist, 395 Long Beach Road in Island Park, reported damage to the passenger-side mirror of her 1995 Chevrolet van on Oct. 13.
  • Someone drove nails into the tires of a 2010 Kenworth truck parked at Crowne Petroleum, 6 Hampton Road in Oceanside, on three separate occasions.
  • A 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe parked on Woods Avenue in Oceanside was scratched on the driver’s-side door on Oct. 7.
  • The pastor at the Bible Church, 2630 Windsor Ave. in Oceanside, reported damage to the fence and bushes on Oct. 09.
  • The front glass door of Hess Gas Station, 2650 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, was found broken on Oct. 15.
  • The front glass door of the Lucky 7 Mart, 2664 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, was found shattered on Oct. 18.
  • A complainant at a home on Parma Road in Island Park heard BB gun shots and then noticed four holes in the glass of her front window on Oct. 5. Several neighbors said they saw the 19-year-old son of a neighbor jumping over fences and running away from police.
  • A complainant on Montgomery Avenue in Oceanside noticed several holes in his PVC fence and shed on Oct. 17 that had apparently been made by rifle shots.

Larceny

  • Someone took jewelry from a home on Links Drive in Oceanside on Oct. 1.
  • A complainant on Oceanside Road West in Oceanside received an e-mail from an unknown sender on Oct. 17 trying to extort $5,000.
