Oceanside toy drive collects over 500 toys

The Oceanside community came together to support those less fortunate with the 11th annual holiday toy drive and adopt a family. Over 500 toys were donated this year. VFW Post 5199 hosted the toy drive and employees from Guardian Bus Co. brought a busload of toys and LI Bagel Cafe in Oceanside supplied food.

The presents go to EGP Oceanside general manager Brianna O’Hagan, who started the toy drive and adopt a family more than a decade ago. O’Hagan and her crew sort and distribute the gifts to 25 local families during the holiday season.

The local “Adopt a Family” drive organizes local children’s wish lists for the holiday season and distributes gifts. The rest of the toys are donated to NYU Langone Cancer Center for Kids, every holiday season.
