Police arrested an Island Park man on Thursday after he allegedly walked into a Dairy Barn, took out a knife and demanded money from a store employee.
Police said Steven Conde, 40, entered the store on 2735 Oceanside Rd., on June 3 at 1:46 p.m., and made off with an unknown amount of cash. He fled the scene in his 1993 Oldsmobile.
Shortly after, police said a plain clothes Rockville Centre police officer observed Conde in his vehicle driving north on North Long Beach Road. The police officer was made aware of the vehicle following a robbery notification.
Conde was placed under arrest and charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on June 4.
