Hundreds of runners participated in the 34th Annual Robert C. McAvoy 5-mile Labor Day race, held on Monday, under beautiful, sunny skies.
The race was in remembrance of an extraordinary Long Beach community member, Robert C. McAvoy.
The 5-mile course was flat and fast, with the start and finish on the boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard. Each year, hundreds of community members gather to run, all knowing the run is more than just a race.
