Long Beach resident Kristen Hommel was awarded dean's list honors at Quinnipiac University for the fall 2009 semester. Hommel is a 2009 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead and the daughter of Ted and Laurie Hommel.

Osnat Edrich of Long Beach made the dean's list at Franklin & Marshall College for the fall 2009 semester. Edrich is a graduate of Solomon Schechter High School in Glen Cove.
