Lido habitat cleanup

Lido Elementary School will hold a cleanup of the school’s habitat gardens on Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to lend a hand.

Breast cancer walk
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk will be held on Oct. 18 at Jones Beach State Park.

Marching band festival
The Long Beach High School marching band will perform at the 47th annual Newsday Marching Band Festival at Hofstra University on October 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Children under 10 enter for free. For tickets, call the LBHS music department at 897-6500.

Celebrate Red Ribbon week
The elementary schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 19 to 23.

West MUST night
West School students and their parents are invited to enjoy an evening of math, science and technology fun at Family MUST Night on Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Lindell SAFE EventLindell parents and students in grades K to 2 are invited to attend the Fall SAFE event on Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The theme for the event will be Halloween safety.
