Long Beach school calendar

Board meeting
The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at the middle school at 8 p.m. on Jan. 12. A board of education worksession is scheduled for Jan. 26 at Long Beach Middle School.

Holiday recess
Long Beach Public Schools will be closed for the holiday recess from Dec. 24 to Jan 1. Classes will resume on Jan. 4.

Parent-principal roundtables
The high school will hold a parent-principal roundtable on Jan. 5 at 8 a.m. The middle school parent/principal roundtable is scheduled for Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m.

Parent-teacher conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Jan. 7 and 13 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Book fair
The middle school book fair begins on Jan. 7. 

LBHS Surf Club sells reusable bottles
The Long Beach High School Surf Club is selling reusable water bottles. These 0.75-liter bottles are $15. Net proceeds will be used to fund the club’s environmental initiatives, and to support the Surfrider Foundation and Surf Aid International. To purchase a bottle, e-mail club advisor Dan Bobis at dbobis@lbeach.org.

Free echocardiogram screening
The Long Beach School District in conjunction with Schneider Children’s Hospital, the Jason F. Gruen Research Foundation and real estate brokers Neil Sterrer & Joe Sinnona announce the second annual free echo cardiogram screening program for 8th grade Middle School student athletes at 8 a.m. on March 20 at the Long Beach Middle School.
